Marvin Batson Dog & Archery Supplies
(Marvin - Fayola - Marvin, Jr - Jeff - Susan - Sandy - Kayla - Jordan - Kasey - Korey)

In 1963, Marvin Batson and his brother, Jim, took over their father's filling station at the corner of Highway AB and Farm Road 124, just west of Springfield, MO., in the community of Elwood. The brothers father had owned the store for two years when they took over. At that time, the store offered many common convenience and grocery store items, and of course, gasoline. A few years after the Batson sons took over, Jim left the business and Marvin remained. It was his influence  and love of foxhounds that would change the scope of the store forever. Today, the store, Batson Dog & Archery, sells all varieties of dog foods, dog collars, engraved collars, archery products including a wide variety of bows, bow fishing supplies and all trapping supplies.
Marvin has two sons, Jeff and Marvin Jr., who have helped in the store as needed over the years. Susan, Jeff's wife, has worked full-time along side Marvin. Sr., since 1991. This second generation of Batson brothers are now carrying on the tradition started by their father over 50 years ago.
